A visual novel is an interactive fiction game, featuring mostly static graphics, most often using anime-style art or occasionally live-action stills (and sometimes video footage). Read more on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visual_novel
Visual novels are awesome. Eroge, otome and dating sims all fall into this category to some degree. Some role playing elements can be involved in visual novels. These include leveling up stats such as levels, obtaining points and gaining new items. With the help of RenPy, a visual novel maker engine, creation of your own stories in visual novels is possible.
Today, I am proud to announce the start of a project to create our very own visual novel with RenPy.
Our new visual novel will contain Hetalia characters, (mainly the Germanics) so there is a great chance that fan service will probably be a leading element of the game for them fans out there. Take note that the dating feature that might have been expected from this game has been terribly tainted. We apologize for that. Or maybe not. Dating your bishounen Hetalia dudes has taken a significant twist. Be focused in where your story is going rather than trying to get some sort of sparkle party ending with your character of choice. For it is likely they will not survive to the end of the game. hehe. Think we're kidding? Okay, think that way.
Also, our BETA tester Camelot will take the honours of playing the game first to assess the visual novel's quality. Camelot will likely give his/her own assessment through their own blog posts or something.
So the wait is ON! Prepare yourselves for those years of development!!!
