Sir Lancelot's Manga and Anime etc. corner
Ummm....anime?
Okay, I admit, I didn't know what to do to this page. I mean, I have narratives, tutorials and methods to preparing your roadkill you pinched from the Abo tribes (admit it, you did) typed down but I mean, I guess a page with my opinionated bias information should be meaningful...??? Well anyway, consider the only thing left that I can freely discuss in a (hopefully) professional manner is manga. And anime. They're the same thing. Wait, check that, they're not. For the n00bs out there who characterize manga=anime and Japan=China=all other Asian weirdo s*** you are seriously wronged. I mean, what, you expect me to write a whole ARTICLE explaining what differentiates the aforementioned? Also, if you think I am going to discuss Japanese animation then let it remain that I will not stray from this topic of choice and leap to any sort of Korean drama or transsexual pop idol band recommendation (for you bastards out there, you know who you are). I will stick to solid fandom on any manga/anime that comes to mind BUT do not think I will equally share this fandom. There will be some moments where I spazz at the very presence of a shipping or a total 'wtf' moment passing by in awkward refusal of ever discussing such atrocities. So grab you otaku car seat (that probably has a Haruhi seat cover, matching with bunny shaped head rests) andsdafklhfsdakljdfsakjlsdfajkldsafklsadjfklsadj;f/
Manga first...
Okay let's cut to the chase, I read manga like a BOSS. I also judge manga, like any professor judging a plagiarized copy of his pupil's paper. In that sense, almost EVERY manga has this cliche cut to it where there has to be this specific THING happening in any copy you pick up and read (or in my case, go on manga reading websites). Ironically, without this imperative THING, none of the features that follow after it could really form the shape of uniqueness. Now don't go flippin' yo balls/breasts and growling at what the f*** this THING could possibly be but I assure you it has nothing to do with the typically intended meaning behind it. (now quit yo For Artistic Purposes and calm yer teenage hormones) When I judge, I don't have a set criteria because I'm not those picky fangirls/fanboys that will only go for the fanservice in the manga. In many cases, some of these betches will only TOUCH this manga if it has at least like one OFFICIAL pairing that is either smexily hetero or normal+ homo for dem yaoi/yuri fangirls. (threesomes come rare, yo). I like to ease my way into the first few chapters, check it out and let the art and storyline flow in. If I find myself eagerly clicking for the next chapter (then ragequitting after realising there's only like 2 chapters uploaded <too cheap to BUY legit manga>) then I guess it sort of passes my interest and I qualify it as something I like. NOW, there's a difference in liking the MANGA and liking the CHARACTERS. I mean there are some mangas like Naruto (yes, I'm a fan) where I find myself liking the characters AND storyline with all the cool ninja shizzle and then there are some mangas that are the exact opposite. (I shall not name any as I have come across too many in one time and it would be tiresome referencing back)
Mirai Nikki is this other manga where the storyline is quite engrossing but when I look at the characters in general I just...well, you get ma drift. Honestly, I do NOT like the protagonist based upon his indecisiveness on everything and he only makes the right choices at the last minute. See what I mean? Fortunately Mirai Nikki is a balanced manga where the plot is extremely good in order to make up for the crack portrayal towards majority of the cast. Actually there was this shattering BL moment where I was like F-YEAH but meh, it returned back to hetero since the guy who stirred up that fanservice moment got killed(haven't seen the anime's portrayal of that scene, LOL). I think it's pretty obvious I'm cool with same gender pairings but my favourite manga fanservice is genderbending...-shot-

Let's see, a manga with good characters but not a very stable plot...well, there's the second type of manga I find way too often when browsing through manga readers (after extremely terrible ones, I guess). Actually there was this manga I read called Bleach. Now before the fans start sharpening their pitchforks and accusing me of being a bloody hipster I assure you, Bleach was just as good as Naruto...for a while. Bleach had the perfect pieces for characters including a head strong protagonist, comic relief side characters, serious cool characters with epic back stories etc. The story formed by mending the personalities with their own problems to create one huge one that the hero obviously had to trudge through and defeat the main boss like some role playing fantasy game. Now everybody all thought that this adventure as one huge problem to be solved by Strawberry-chan -stabbed by fangirl weapons- made a wonderful plot to go through but I guess the mangaka wasn't too careful as to set certain 'seeds' well before the big fight was over and everything was all sunshine and daisies. When the Eizan dude (or whatever his name was) finally got pwned things began to relatively crumble to a setback that had no sort of 'but what about...?' thing to it. Those what abouts were those seeds that intended to root off the realisation that the story could not really end and that those seeds led to more problems thus ending an adventure and starting a new one while still linking to the previous events somehow in reference to when those seeds became present. I believe Bleach was too brief about a beginning with those growing seed plantation thus giving that air of slack where the reader truly believed it had all ended and felt that giving it a new complication was just going to spoil it. But that's not what readers are supposed to think. Which is why I wholeheartedly believe that the manga was good in its potential but not implemented to a certain degree of addiction like other mangas with a continuous storyline (I'm not going to specify Naruto as even then, that manga had its flaws though not as major IMO).
Oh no, I feel drowsy. I think I've been gassed chloroform. Nap time.
...
Ok I'm awake as well as alive right now. Take into consideration that I'm supposed to be browsing my history notes but am not bothered. Why? Because WWII is a mother effing subject that comes from no textbook. You have to be there to now what was happening...
Now moving on...

Anime TIME!!!
Lets get this shizzle down. I like anime. ENGRRISH subbed NOT English dubbed. Seriously. Actual seiyuus are there in the animes for one reason, that one reason being to NOT stuff up the characters but to make them awesome and feel alive within their audience. I swear, almost every single English dubbing of an anime have voice overs that grate the shine of expression off the face of this earth and replace it with a monotonous ear poison that slowly brings your brain into a dull stupor. Loss of interest and completely muting the anime results in the complete loss of trust within not just English voice dubbing but also the anime itself. So please, people willing to dub animes into English, I know you mean well and all but if you have the slightest hint that the anime's effect of awesomeness will be depleted then consider getting 1000 passionate otakus (not me of course *cough*)to review the dubbing quality. Please. It would save yourself from YouTube lashing out on your crappy-er, misinterpreted intentions to do with whatever anime.
WE all know now that Lancey MILDLY DISLIKES English dubbing but lets not forget Japanese voicing isn't always 5 star rated. You'd get animes with effective voices and others that shoot their characters roles into complete misinterpretation. So lets leap onto the simple rating I have carefully devised for certain people willing to check out what's hot and what's not:
Rating 1/5: Expect nothing too good from here. You'll get that monotonous voice that drawls out to the extent that during the live dubbing the voices are totally not in sync with the animation. No favourable expressions in the voice emphasis making you feel sorry for the character having such low popularity because of the terrible voice acting.
Rating 2/5: These blokes put WAAY too much emphasis in some places that makes their character have that inconsistent singsong voice that gives your mind the imagery of a terrible Swiss yodeler. You'll notice the painful pattern of high notes to instant drops of low notes with the repetition of this routine being total overkill.
Rating 3/5; These voices have that air of inferiority to it that just makes you crack up lmfao-ing when you realise that one shota character sounds like a pedophile. Completely doesn't match the character no matter how well their enthusiasm hypes their speech. I guess you could blame the animation director for this one.
Rating 4/5: You see the quality and potential in their voice. They usually don't have their fabulous voices at the beginning of their performances but it gradually improves to something a notch better. Not entirely awe-inspiring but definitely makes the character realistic and actually suited for the voice.
Rating 5/5: Matches the character and makes you instantly immersed into the anime. No hesitant thoughts about 'woah, is it me but that voice...' as you are probably fanloling and beginning your manhunt for this fabulous voice actor/actress on the internet. This quality is moderately ok to tolerate and enjoy to a spectrum of fandom...
Rating S: They basically have the 133t boss skills of the seiyuu world. You hear that voice similarly over and over again in different animes and games yet you can't get enough of them. No matter their voice, they can fit almost any character they are assigned to make alive because that's just how frigging cool they are in their career. No doubt, even if they're the only real deal in an entire cast of average seiyuus THEY WILL MAKE THE ANIME AWESOME. Somehow, it just happens.

Mangas and animes that Lancey has read and watched
A LOT. Everybody knows that. If my list were to be placed here it would take crack to list...actually, maybe it wouldn't be too bad to list them down. Not ALL since it will suck for me to try and remember them. I'll consider making a recommendation page...AND done! Alright click here.
